Light rail service to University of Washington and Capitol Hill is a game-changer for getting around the Puget Sound region, and we’re excited to celebrate it with you. Below is a list of offerings on Launch Day, with many more surprises are in store.  Share your favorites with us using #ULINK2016.

University of Washington Station tailgate party

Start your adventure at information central to plan your day and get information on how to ride U Link.

Take a self-guided tour of University of Washington Station as you wait to board the train. While there, take in the architectural design of LMN Architects and Subterrarium, the station’s walls by artist and UW alum Leo Saul Berk.  Interpretive videos and signs provide an insider look at the making of University of Washington Station. Trains depart from the station every 10 minutes; a ride to Capitol Hill is four minutes, downtown is eight and a full ride to Sea-Tac Airport is less than an hour.

What’s a party without music? A wide range of music will be offered, including classical, rock, folk, hip-hop and indie performed live throughout the event and spun by a live DJ in The Commons. Acts include DJ Riz Rollins, Pretty Shady String Band, Arte Flamenco and the Champagne Honeybee. Check the schedule for full list of offerings.
Stop by the community booths to learn about the SR 520 bridge replacement, Feet First, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways and more. King County Metro will also be on hand with information on upcoming bus changes beginning March 26. While there, try your luck with The Claw at the Sound Transit bike station and pick up free commemorative items (while supplies last).
Your one-stop shop for all things UW. Be sure to visit the nearby Sound Transit Future Projects booth to learn where Link light rail will take you next.
Bring a lock and drop off your bike so you can relax and enjoy the party. BikeWorks will be on hand to provide free tune-ups. Repair work available for a fee.
Drop in and play Giant Jenga, test your skill at Rush Hour or build a paper train. Or sit back and watch a parade before hopping on Link. The Game Zone has something for all ages.
Food for purchase will be available from some of your favorite food trucks. Participants include Snout & Co, Moto Surf and Raney Brothers BBQ.

Get there. There is no parking at either station. Transit, biking, ride-sharing and park-and-ride are all great ways to get to the event. Special event shuttle service will connect Northgate Transit Center to University of Washington Station during the event. Learn more >>

Capitol Hill Station arts & culture street fair

Start your adventure at information central to plan your day and get information on how to ride U Link.

Take a self-guided tour of Capitol Hill Station as you wait to board the train. While there, take in the architectural design of Hewitt Architects, Crossed Pinkies and Walking Fingers, two murals by Capitol Hill artist Ellen Forney, and Mike Ross’ Jett Kiss, a sculpture suspended above the station platform. Interpretive videos and signs give you an insider look at the making of Capitol Hill Station. Trains depart from the station every 10 minutes; a ride to University of Washington or downtown Seattle is four minutes, and a full ride to Sea-Tac Airport is less than an hour.

Tour the community booths to learn about the new First Hill Streetcar, Pronto Bikes or test drive a new look at the temporary tattoo parlor. Visit the Capitol Hill Chamber booth and learn how to get a commemorative piece of the iconic red wall that surrounded the Capitol Hill Station construction zone.
Shop for fresh, local produce and flowers at the pop-up farmers market, then stop by King County Metro to learn about changes to bus service near Capitol Hill Station beginning March 26. Finally, drop by Sound Transit’s Future Projects tent to find out where Link light rail will take you next.
